This week on CRC Insights we will have The Center For Pastoral Studies Round Table. CPS Round Table is a monthly radio program where teachers from the Center For Pastoral Studies talk about theological issues in a open round table format. CPS Round Table is hosted by John Adams.
It is the gospel that changes lives!
A lot of what takes place in the West Virginia capitol during the regular session is done so that it might change people’s lives. Education reform is pursued so that more children will stay in school and receive a better education to change their lives. Legislators and elected officials pursue economic reforms to provide more and better jobs which would certainly make a difference in people’s lives. Leaders are considering the issue of overcrowded jails and seeking answers to what might change people’s lives so that they do not go to or return to prison. It is certainly important for leaders involved in state government to seek answers to problems such as these. But the letter of Philemon points us to the real answer – it is the gospel that changes lives!
Christian writer and speaker Jim Hale will be this week's guest on CRC Insights. We will talk to Jim about his upcoming workshop to be held at the Christian Resource Center titled “Developing A Strong Christian Worldview.” During our interview, Jim said all Christians are commanded in Scripture to be ready to defend their faith when it is challenged. The workshop will give believers the tools to address nearly every opposition to the gospel that they meet.

Stories such as this are common throughout the regular session at the West Virginia legislature. It encourages me that our studies from Paul’s letter to Philemon regarding forgiveness and reconciliation are certainly needed in the West Virginia Capitol.
This week’s study is titled “Forgiven Much? Forgive Much!” You can download our study here. We will be providing these studies three times each week during the session to allow those with extremely busy schedules to attend. We also distribute the notes to every legislator and elected official as well as many lobbyists and staff.
